Funding Limitations

GBF does not provide funds for:

• Organizations outside of Illinois, unless the work has a direct impact on girls and young women in Illinois



• Mixed gender programs



• Scholarships, fellowships or tuition reimbursement



• Individuals



• Government agencies (including public schools)



• Fundraising events



• Capital and endowment campaigns



• Debt reduction



• Programs promoting religious activities (GBF works with community-based groups, including faith-based organizations working to empower girls. However, GBF does not fund the promotion of religious beliefs or practices.)



• Programs inconsistent with federal, state and local non-discrimination statutes



• Campaigns to elect candidates to public office or lobbying efforts



• Medical research
