What if the organization that I work with is currently either applying for or using grant money from Girl's Best Friend Foundation?
Sorry, your group cannot apply for grant money from SES if the organization that you work with is currently either applying for or using grant money from Girl's Best Friend Foundation for the same project or activity your group has developed. But your group can apply for a different project or activity.
How much grant money can we ask for?
Our grants range from $500 to $3,000. SES also gives 10 percent over the total grant amount for evaluation of the project. If a group gets a grant of $1,000, also receives an additional $100 to find out what worked well, what it would do differently, and why.
How do we ask for grant money?
Girls and young women should:- Complete the application, pledge form, and budget page
- Attach a copy of the nonprofit organization's 501(c)(3) letter
- Send the application, budget page, and
501(c)(3) letter to:
Sisters Empowering Sisters
c/o Girl's Best Friend Foundation
900 North Franklin, Suite 210
Chicago, IL 60610
When would our group get grant money?
If your group is being considered for a grant from SES, members will visit your group to ask questions and get more information about your project. Final grant decisions will then be made. You will receive a letter that will tell you whether or not your group will receive grant money. Check back to this site for the schedule to apply.
What if our group doesn't get grant money?
Don't take it personally. You can always try again next year!
