Evaluation
Girl's Best Friend Foundation (GBF) is committed to helping our grantees learn to better utilize evaluation methods within their programs and organizations.
We see evaluation as a tool for long-term planning and demonstrating program outcomes. Organizations often do not have the necessary time or financial resources to dedicate to evaluation. To address this situation, resources included in every GBF grant assist in evaluation practices.
GBF provides an additional 10 percent in grant monies over the awarded grant amount; this extra funding is earmarked for evaluation. GBF then offers every grantee workshops on evaluation methods. These workshops are a place where grantees can come together and plan their evaluation methods and strategies. We also give every grantee a copy of Mapping a Path for Evaluation: A Planning Guide, a practical, easy-to-use guide for evaluating projects or organizations. The guide assists nonprofits in learning to more effectively identify and document results and plan for the future.
If you would like to receive a copy or have any questions, please contact us at contact@girlsbestfriend.org or 312.266.2842.
